Seriously Smashed is a unique resource for young people, parents, and those working with young people. It explores the risks of drinking too much and highlights such issues as reckless behaviour, sex under the influence, breaking the law, bullying and violence.

Glenorchy City Council recognised the need to develop a resource to raise awareness of the frequency and impact of youth binge drinking. To engage local young people, it was felt necessary for this to be an innovative, youth driven project.
A proposal was developed in consultation with young people and education and service providers who identified social media as the most effective tool for engagement and education.
The Australian Government recognised the potential benefits of the project and provided funding of $245 000 (through the National Binge Drinking Strategy - Community Level Initiatives stream).
All elements of the project, including the party, language, real stories, and use of social media were developed with local young people and their experiences, ideas and advice.
